Love Day

I have always loved Valentines Day, I have always been a fan, never one of those girls to wear black and call it singles awareness day (SAD), I just love LOVE and so the day is always celebratory for me!  I wear pink and red and curl my hair and soak up the day!

I remember getting SO excited about Valentines in elementary school.  The little pouches you would make with your name in sparkles and then on Valentines Day you would put your Valentines in that you wrote yourself, paying extra attention to your crush of the week!  I would save my favorite ones all year on my bulletin board, even though my love couldn't even spell my name right!
Valentines have come a long way!
Look at these amazing Valentines my cousin Nicki made for her kids to give out!
Kind of fuzzy because they are just thumbails off facebook

But aren't they amazing-SUPER MOM!

On to Ben and I's night!

It was our very first Valentines Day together and it was beyond perfect.  We kind of planned it together because sometimes it's good when I tell him exactly what I want.

So we planned to do an affordable valentines with no gifts and dinner at home!

The Surprise Ben had waiting for him when he got up (My mom always made us little candy packages on Valentines Day so I did the same for him)

and of course valentine cupcakes!
And then when I got home from school, Ben just had the perfect little thing set up! He cooked all by himself and it was sooo delicious!

Our Romantic living room

Candles and all!

All my favorite things-Lindor, Dove chocolates, Red Vines,  New Biolage shampoo and conditioner  and a huge gorgeous bouquet!

Filet Steak, salad, green beans, baked potatoes and martinelli's!
And then Ben gave me SUCH a good present!  He watched the Bachelor with me!
I love this show, especially when Ben will watch it with me which is very rare and Michelle got kicked off so it was even sweeter. We had plans to go to the cheesecake factory for dessert but with the 45 minute drive and so much chocolate and cupcakes there we just had a romantic night at home!

Emily is my fav!

So that was our perf val day!

"Sweat It Be"

So I have always been that girl that after any sports game, looks like I had a shower, I just sweat easily and mostly in my hair and face, I also look like a tomato head because my face gets super red.  I thought that this was mostly normal growing up, until I look to the left and right of me on the treadmill and see girls who have been running longer than me, hair and face completely dry, bangs set perfectly on their salty-sweaty FREE forehead.

So now I have this problem...I'm pretty self conscious about my hot mess..

Ben and I got gym memberships to 24 in January and I have been going pretty regularly.  Jennica and I have been mostly religious about attending Yoga and Zumba classes! They are so fun!  Yoga is relaxing and hard and about relaxation and balance, and I totally feel like a celebrity because they are all into the zen of yoga and we say "namaste" and stuff and I always feel really good after.  Zumba is high powered cardio dance for an hour straight, it beats running on a treadmill for an hour and the dances are so energetic and you learn to shake what you got pretty good too!
Jen, I totally agree

I was starting to feel weird about my red head and my wet bangs and so after 6.5 minutes on the treadmill, exactly when I started to sweat, I would get off, go do some easy stuff and then go back until I started to sweat again...So basically it was a pathetic work out.

I soon realized this was stupid...I can't put drysol all up in my scalp and I can't stop sweating so whatever I might as well just embrace it and make it worth it and I'm gonna stop coveting girls who don't have glands or something and just not worry about it anymore.

I'm doing something good for my body, my pores are cleansing, models rub oil on themselves which practically looks like sweat,  and I look hardcore!

Sorry if this is a gross post for some to read all about sweat, it's just been on my mind...

#1 Rule-Don't wear grey!

Have a Sweat towel-There are some way funny ones on this site:

My Polish Obsession.

So I think it is about time I dedicate a post to a true love
   Nail Polish
How Do I Love Thee-Let me count the ways...
My very own collection!
Now I am not just your average nail polish connoisseur I like to think of myself as a passionate nail polish professional...I do not just have some old caboodle box filled with 10 year old crusty Sally Hansen nail polishes.  I have the best nail polish-OPI, and recently have started to like a cute brand called Etsy-sold at J Crew!!

Glove you so Much
It is by far the best quality and you get what you pay since it is an $8.50 a bottle in the states and of course    $10.00 a bottle in Canada, OPI also has a vast array of beautiful collections of colors, every time I walk into a beauty store, I head straight to the nail polish, I love it, deciding on what color to add to my collection (When Ben lets me haha).  I also just love the names of all the OPI's, it would be my dream job to sit and look at a color all day and think of the perfectly clever name to name it.
One of my favorite purple's is called "a grape fit",
A Grape Fit
in last year's Christmas Holiday collection one of my favorite deep beautiful reds was called "glove you so much" and in OPI's new Texas collection hitting stores today they have names like "Do you think I'm texy" and "San Tan-Tonio" and "So Fort-Worth It"
I actually can look at most of the colors, at least the ones I have and name them by name.

New Texas Collection!

So yes I love my nail polish, one of my newest colors is from the amazing Katy Perry Collection (you know you've made it when you have an OPI collection named after you) currently on my toes-it is called not like the movies and is a silvery purpley greeny color-perfect for still winter but warming up just a little! Ok I know I sound like a pathetic valley girl right now, it's just what nail polish does to me!
New colored, new painted toes
So, new up and coming nail trend-well I think-I really want it to be- it is to paint one of your fingers on each hand another color, a complimentary color, I saw Vanessa Hudgens do it in a magazine and a few other celebs, also a few girls on campus, I love it and hope it sticks! Then you get to choose another color to have on your nails!
Celebrity Trend

Me being a conformist-OPI "Over the Taupe" with ring fingered "Glitzerland" from the Swiss collection!

So there it is, my nail polish love affair!
Don't Judge me:)
