And they lived happily ever after...

This morning I woke up feeling pretty ill after a horrible nights sleep.
I wanted to pop in a movie and fall asleep on the couch.
I put in the movie "The Break Up"... I hate that movie.  I mean I gathered that there would be a break up but I couldn't believe they did not get back together in the end!

I know there are not always happy endings in life every time, but that's precisely why I want happy endings in my fiction!  I do not want Jack Dawson dying and Rose being alone in her withering old age, I do not want movies like Inception, Limitless and Source Code, where they keep you guessing at the end and don't give you a sure ending, therefore I am forced to make up the ending in my mind as a happy one.  Yes, Leo in Inception is happily back with his family in real life,  and the guy in Limitless is really off the pills and doing just fine!

So yes, when I am reading a book and become familiar enough with the characters, I turn to the end and read the ending, if it not how I want it, I stop reading the book and move onto a happy one.

Yes I stopped watching my favorite show "One Tree Hill" after season 5 because Lucas and Peyton were finally married and happy and I couldn't watch the writers give them unhappiness for dramas sake after all they had been through.

I knew Ryan and Marissa were going to break up in the third season of the OC, so I immediately stopped watching mid-episode to end that relationship happy in my mind.  In my mind Ryan and Marissa are happily married and have very skinny blonde children.

I want a happy ending,  and the very best one's are when the happy couple gets back together by the end of the movie....and then they show like a "ten years later" and they show the wedding and them having babies, even better!

I love a happy ending, these are some of my favorite...

He's Just Not That Into You-2 happy endings-Ben Affleck proposes and Jen gets her happy ending and Gigi is the exception, not the rule.
Meredith and Derek's happy ending...only took four seasons but luckily still going strong
Enchanted-"True Loves Kiss"
FINALLY!!!!  ALL is right in the world
I remember watching this when I was like 12, goosebumps all over my body when the stadium started cheering and he ran towards Drew on the pitching mound!
Vivian Ward needs love too!
You've Got Mail
Joe Fox: Don't cry, Shopgirl. Don't cry.
Kathleen Kelly: I wanted it to be you. I wanted it to be you so badly.
Breathtaking!!

So sue me, I want the happy ending, every time!  So Hollywood: stop making us guess, GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT!
