Loud and Proud

Ok I'm just going to say it-
I LOVE TV!
The Emmy's were last week and I felt proud of the wonderful world of television.
that I feel so much a part of.
Ok I know there are haters out there who think TV is a waste of time,
turns your brain to mush and trashy but haters gonna hate.

I am proud to say I love TV!  I finish everything I have to do as fast as I can
so I can watch my show, I have spent hours looking for free streaming online that night because I can't wait till the next day when the new episode goes on abc.com or something. I sometimes watch an episode with Jennica even if I already watched it the night before, and then again with Brian, I get butterflies during the last few commercials because I am so excited for it to come back on and summer is not my favorite season because TV takes it break!

For myself, watching my favorite shows is a way for me to relax, take a break from
everything and just immerse myself in another magical world,
I do my homework on time, I still read a lot, I excersise sometimes, so I totes deserve my TV time!
I laugh, I cry, I scream, I hurt, I have joy
for my characters (my friends) haha every week.

So September is obviously one of my favorite months because of all my season premiers!
It's a little bitter sweet though because at the beginning of the season they have to create a lot of drama so all of my friends are in emotonal turmoil at the moment.  Mer and Der are on the rocks, Stephan is giving into his dark side and pushing Elena away, House is in jail, Quinn isn't in Glee club anymore, Pete might be dead, and Blaire might marry the wrong man! At least I have Modern Family and Community where all problems are solved in half an hour.
If any of that made sense to you, you have to admit it, you are a TV junkie!  Say it loud, Say it Proud!

So now that I am completley out of the closet, I guess there is no harm in giving a preview of my average week:

Monday-Gossip Girl. House (Bachelor/Bachelorette when in season)
Tuesday-90210, Glee, Pretty Little Liars
Wednesday-Modern Family
Thursday (golden TV day)-Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, The Vampire Diaries
Friday-
Saturday-
Sunday-Desperate Housewives, Dexter, Keeping up with the Kardashians

Lets have a moment of silence for some shows I love but are not on anymore-Brothers and Sisters, One Tree Hill (still on but dead to me without Leyton) and Off the Map-loved all 10 episodes before got cancelled.

I know a lot of you are thinking "this girl spends like 13 hours a week watching TV-what a slob"
and to you I say-Watch this:

Doesn't that just make you want to jump up and get a Tivo!
So now you know my obsession, I love TV, Dramas, Comedy, ok mostly Dramas but I am so not above Keeping Up With the Kardashians!
I am a little embarrassed about this post but I hope if I can even help just one person who might be scared to start a new show, or watch 3 whole seasons in one weekend have the courage to do it, then this was worth it!
TV is a vast wonderland.

The Real Housewives of Provo

Well I don't know if it is because I saw "The Help" or if because I drive by the
fruit stand everyday but when but I woke up on Saturday morning I was
very determined to make my very first ever pie!
It is practically a marriage rite of passage to make a pie and even though I did not
make my own crust, which some will scoff at because that is the hardest part,
I know Marie Callender can do it better than I, so have at it Marie!

So pi=3.14 and pie=3.14 HOURS!
It was not a perfect attempt, I was quite the stress case and my mom was in my kitchen via Skype
checking pie crusts and glaze viscosity but overall a success I think.

I headed to Allred's Orchard for a bushel (bushel??) of fresh peaches
I peeled the peaches using the hot water method
I made a glaze over the stove
I sliced each peach
I baked and cooled my crust
I combined glaze and peaches
I poured peaches into crust
I made thick, sweet whipping cream right before serving.
I ate my humble pie.
It was delicious.

It was not quite as good as my mom's but everyone said they liked it.
I served it in St. George at Ben's parents house-more about our weekend to come.

So now I am quite the southern belle and probably will be whipping these things up all the time,
Ya'll come back now ya hear.

"The road to HE double hockey stick is paved with good intentions"

Very inspirational quote...
So there is this website I have mentioned before...
called Pinterest...
It is one of my absolute faves...
I can spend hours and hours looking
at all the things I want to bake and make
and pine for, and sign for
and buy and try
and DIY!
I literally look at so many things and think
"what a good idea"
"that looks delicious"
"I need to try that"
"I need a baby"
The thing is I was looking and thinking and pinning...
but not doing any of it
So I have been on a quest to actually try some
of the things I found on Pinterest!!
Here are the adventures...

First off-NAIL MARBLING
I'm sure we all know of my polish obsession
and they have some cool stuff on Pinty!
So with the help of Britt, Elissa and Jennica the nail marbling began.

And then of course we had to experiment some more...Toe Marbling

My next Pinterest Project was at the MacLennan Reunion, when I was in charge of a Snack--Of course as a first year of meal planning at Waterton, I had to impress so I scoured Pinterest for something delicious and adorb, this is what I came up with...

Strawberry Shortcake Kabobs!
The left is mine and the right is from Pinterest!
They were a hit!

The next pinterest project was another nail project, well not really a project just a color combo I really liked
Pinterest...

And Mine
Picture quality is not great but you get the point!

The last project was a domestic project, our shower has been grimy since we moved in, the floor of the shower is just un-white and everything I tried does nothing.
I saw a pin on pinterest saying that a grapefruit and sea salt can clean your shower!
I thought I would give it a try...come grapefruit, come salt...
Pinterest example...

And my attempt...

Ok so this one did not work at all. But the point is I tried and the shower smelt of citrus delight!

So that is me taking action with Pinterest!
These are the next things I want to try...
DIY THIS-bread tags-so smart right

                                                                        Become KM
Make these for Ben-Buffalo Chicken Grilled Cheese!

I want to hear what you guys have accomplished from Pinterest!
